Scotland Grows Show, S4-E01 - All About Snowdrops with Helen Ruston

Are you ready to fall in love with snowdrops in this episode with Helen Rushton, arguably Scotland’s Queen of Snowdrops!

Helen has a rural garden in Aberdeenshire with a snowdrop collection that extends to over 550 named varieties, all from a chance find of double snowdrops in the garden. The collection was awarded National Plant Collection status in 2020 by Plant Heritage and you may have seen some of those gorgeous snowdrops on Beechgrove. If not, check them out here.

The garden has won environmental awards and was the Gardeners’ World Magazine Wildlife Garden and People’s Choice Garden in 2017.

Helen volunteers for Scotland’s Gardens Scheme as an Area Organiser and has opened her garden, Bruckhills Croft Garden, since 2008, and in the spring for snowdrops since 2014 so you can go and see these beauties in her fabulous space. Find her garden here.
